Long Lake Milfoil Mapping 2018 (LLMM 2018) was a collaborative effort involving lake residents and the City’s Lake Water Quality Program.
Volunteers - 10 boat teams mapped over 60 sections of Long Lake in the month of August
Lake Water Quality Staff provided training, GPS units, and technical support for developing the Google maps
THE RESULT - Digital maps indicating location and density of beds of Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM).
These maps should allow us all to better avoid these areas and HELP STOP THE SPREAD!

Note: We intend to repeat the mapping project this summer. Can you volunteer your time and/or a boat? Contact the LLSC at longlakesudbury@gmail.com.
Note: We expect that our lake will participate in a scientific pilot project this summer to investigate a control method for EWM.
