Residents of Long Lake and its Watershed:
1) Long Lake Milfoil Mapping 2018 (LLMM 2018) - Thank you to Taylor Menard of the city’s Lake Water Quality Program for last night’s presentation on identifying Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) and on rating its density by the rake-toss method. Thank you also to the two dozen participants at this training session! Packages of information will be distributed to all boat teams prior to the late July milfoil mapping project.
2) Well Water Survey - Below is a link to a survey opportunity for owners of wells, forwarded to us by the Greater Sudbury Watershed Alliance. The Long Lake Stewardship Committee is supportive of this research project that will gather information about private groundwater drinking sources and the level of knowledge about stewardship of wells.
3) Check out a message on our Facebook page about a long section of black water line floating down the middle of the lake (about 1” by 30+ feet). Boaters beware.
